Job Overview : We are seeking a Welder’s Apprentice / Helper to support our pipeline construction projects. In this role, you will assist experienced welders in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipeline systems. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the welding trade, learn on the job, and advance your career in the pipeline industry. Key Responsibilities : Assist journeyman welders with preparing and setting up welding equipment. Handle and transport materials, tools, and welding supplies to job sites. Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by grinding, sanding, and polishing metal parts. Hold, clamp, and position materials for welders to ensure proper alignment. Perform basic welding tasks under the supervision of an experienced welder. Help maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Support welders in pipeline installations, inspections, and repairs as needed. Participate in daily safety briefings and adhere to all safety regulations and PPE requirements. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. Qualifications : Entry-level position; no formal experience required but a strong interest in welding and construction. Enrollment in a recognized welding apprenticeship program is an asset. Basic understanding of welding processes, tools, and materials. Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. Physically fit to handle heavy materials and work in challenging outdoor environments. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the job site. Basic safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid) are an asset. Desired Skills : Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
