Caretaker Managers (Summer Position)

7429 Sunnybrae-Canoe Point, Tappen, BC

Located 42 kms from Salmon Arm, BC, on beautiful Shuswap Lake.

Just drive 14 kms west out of Salmon Arm on the Trans Canada

Highway to the village of Tappen. Turn east at Tappen Co-op onto

Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road and continue to the end of the road,

about 28 kms. From the Sicamous Channel bridge you can look

across the lake, that’s Totem Pole Resort.

About Totem Pole

The jewel at the end of the road is how first visitors describe our small resort / strata community comprised of 32 cottages, tennis court, hiking, swim area and of course our towering totem pole.

About the Contractor position

We are seeking caretaker managers, experience preferred, but not essential, to manage a resort community / strata that can join us June 1st through September 30th.

You are welcoming in your spirit and a skilled problem solver with general maintenance experience related to managing a resort community.

We are at the end of the road and a long way from traditional trade support or solutions, that’s where you come in. Managing our water treatment plant daily requires skill and water certification, maintaining our grounds and landscaping is part of your daily routine.

Resort security is a daily routine, which includes cottage checks, inspection of our facilities and maintenance of Strata assets, firefighting equipment and hydrants.

Garbage pickup, perform repairs as identified including plumbing, electrical and emergency repairs. Managing the foreshore and providing surveillance of moored boats.

Hours are flexible with your availability between 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday. You ensure we have a safe and secure resort community for owners and visitors.

Communication is vital with Owners, Strata and our Community. We need Caretaker Managers we can rely on when things go bad.

The immediate need for a Summer contract has the potential to become a long term annual contracted position.

There is an opportunity to run your own Resort store, offering liquor and marine fuel sales that can be integrated into your role providing an added income streams into your business while managing the resort for the strata.

The Contractor is responsible for all costs related to running your own store, inventory, liquor, marine gas, and carry commercial liability insurance.

Compensation

You will receive a living package that includes a waterfront cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage as your residence, valued at $2,500 / month, above the store and a base monthly income.

Base income of $4,000 monthly + gst. The view from your deck is included at no charge.

Required :

Successful candidates will have to hold or obtain : Drivers Licence, provide latest Criminal Record Check, Water Testing Certificate, Bondable and have your own maintenance tools.
