Job description

The candidate will be responsible for :

  • Integrating software databases to increase efficiencies, communication and trend data.
  • Facilitating and providing hands-on support for manufacturing process and control systems, collaborating with maintenance, engineering, IT, operations, and external contractors.
  • Compiling data into dashboards / reports for ongoing key performance indicators.
  • Suggesting and implementing network, software and data storage improvements.
  • Administering and participating in change control for computerized and process control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis to effectively resolve operational issues with process and facility equipment.
  • Executing projects on time, in scope and on budget that support operational goals and priorities.
  • PLC / HMI / Data Historian field service, programming, commissioning, and testing.
  • Providing input into the company's IT / OT controls strategy for the direction and implementation of future technology and related technical standards. Make recommendations to support future growth of the system.
  • Maintaining CAD drawings and collaborating on updating quality and training documents.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor’s request.

The successful candidate for this position should have :

Education :

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, CET, Red Seal trade.
  • Experience :

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial controls programming, IT, computer integration or similar.
  • Proficiency in C++, HTML, SQL server or similar for the purpose of data integration and reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud-based data storage.
  • Proficiency in PLC / HMI programming / maintaining. (RSLogix5000 & Factory Talk is an asset)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated and able to work effectively with a team or independently, in a deadline-driven, multi-task environment.
