The Registered Care Aide provides compassionate, culturally safe care to clients in First Nations communities across BC . Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist clients with daily living activities and support their overall health and well-being in both clinical and community-based settings.
Key Responsibilities :
Direct Patient Care :
Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobilityProvide emotional and physical support in medical, rehabilitation, and wellness settingsSafely assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulationMonitor and report changes in patient conditions to clinical staffEncourage client independence and support self-care based on individual care plansHealth and Wellness Support :
Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care and rehabilitation plansPromote culturally appropriate and safe care practicesParticipate in health promotion and wellness initiatives within community settingsWork Environments :
Provide services at FNHA-operated sites including Nursing Stations, Health Centres, and Satellite ClinicsMay be assigned to work within the following BC Health Authorities : Interior Health , Fraser Health , Vancouver Coastal Health , Island Health , Northern Health , and PHSAQualifications :
Certification as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) or Registered Care Aide from a recognized programActive registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker RegistryValid CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)Experience working in rural or remote Indigenous communities is an assetCore Competencies :
