What is the Opportunity?

The Broadcast & Event AV Operator will support the for operation and technical activities for all live events, webcasts and other meetings to be held in the RBC’s Waterpark Auditorium and RBC’s Plaza event locations.This is a highly specialized role requires an exceptional understanding of Audio Visual and broadcast equipment. What will you do?

  • Lead day to day operations audio / visual / lighting equipment including : Live, multi-camera technical directionMulti-camera switching on Newtek TricasterRemote camera control maintaining Iris, focus and colour balance.IMAG and Multi format computer projectionImport / Export video files in various formats and resolutionsWebcasting / Videoconferencing set up and broadcastEdit, compress, export, transfer completed video filesRouting AV signals via Crestron and Blackmagic video systemCustom lighting set up for various event / webcasting scenariosOperation of remote lighting controls before and during live events / webcastsLive multi-channel audio mixingAudio mixer set up and operation (Yamaha Digital Audio Console)

What do you need to succeed? Must-have :

  • Expert knowledge & capabilities in all aspects of audio / video technical direction and operation of broadcast technology including live event and webcasting
  • An excellent understanding of all equipment to accurately assess, troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with senior level executives.
  • Able to work well independently or part of a team.
  • Able to work flexible hours including afternoon and occasional weekend shifts.
  • Ability to learn new technical information quickly and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel)
