Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Ontario’s Largest Imaging Group

MPA have been retained by a leading private Cardiology and Diagnostic Services organization to recruit for a Registered Nuclear Technologist to join their multidisciplinary teams. The client is Ontario’s leading imaging group, providing a range of radiology and cardiology imaging modalities.

Reporting into the clinic leader, in this role you will be responsible for working alongside patients to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures on Bone, Brain, Thyroid, Liver, Spleen, Hepatobiliary, Renal and lung scans. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist position is open to full-time, part time or casual hours for the right candidate.

Responsibilities.

  • Ensure patient identification, safety and preparation procedures are correct before starting nuclear medicine examinations.
  • Ensure relevant patient history is documented.
  • Inform supervisor, or designated person, of unusual or abnormal cases.
  • Set up and adjust nuclear medicine equipment, maintaining established protocol.
  • Monitor supplies and notify supervisor of shortages.
  • Ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required.
  • Rest and Stress myocardial imaging.
  • Bone, brain, thyroid, liver, spleen, hepatobiliary, renal scans, and lung.
  • I131 thyroid treatments, Bone Densitometry scans.
  • Gallium scans, RBC liver / spleen scans.
  • Venograms, Dacrocystograms and testicular scans.
  • Rest and stress MUGA’s.
  • Clean, tidy and disinfect nuclear medicine equipment and change rooms.

Essential Criteria

  • Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant province.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Maintain competence in position by attending staff meetings.
