We’re looking for a hands‑on, detail‑driven Structural Engineer to join our team in Sussex, NB. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the structural design and construction of our modular and panelized buildings, and will support project management and perform on‑site inspections at other company locations.

The ideal candidate has experience with design/build methods—particularly in wood‑frame, steel, and concrete construction—and brings a practical, solution‑focused approach to every project. You’re a clear communicator, an effective collaborator, and able to manage multiple priorities without compromising on quality or deadlines.
What You’ll Do
- Develop structural designs in compliance with the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC).
- Develop and review structural calculations using specialized engineering software, and provide clear, accurate documentation—including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of construction drawings, ensuring design intent, accuracy, constructability, and alignment with modular manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams—including sales, manufacturing, and project management—to provide preliminary design guidance, value‑engineered solutions, and support for sales and permit drawings.
- Conduct structural inspections and assessments both in‑plant and on‑site, evaluating new builds as well as existing buildings, and recommending practical solutions to technical issues.
- Provide ongoing client support, building strong relationships and acting as a technical resource from concept through construction.
- Identify risks and propose innovative design or process improvements, supporting continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing workflows.
- Ensure all work aligns with company standards, quality expectations, and construction best practices.
What You Bring
- Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree considered a strong asset) with a specialty in Structural Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- At least 5 years of relevant structural engineering work experience.
- Proficient in the full range of design activities, including preparation of preliminary and detail design drawings and reports, contract document preparation and tendering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant structural engineering Codes and Standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other structural analysis software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong technical report and specification writing skills.
- Capable of working on and leading several projects at the same time and with projects in different stages.
