Role Description
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, as the Industrial Mechanic / Millwright you are responsible for the installation, removal, repair, and preventative maintenance of rotating equipment within the manufacturing floor.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing various types of pulp moulding machinery, pumps, motors, fans, compressors, shafts, pulleys, hoists, conveyors, and other related rotating equipment.
- Performing preventive maintenance on the equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Installing power drives in correct positions, aligning power shafts and pulleys, and assisting in the organization and scheduling of preventive maintenance routines. Utilizing hoists, rollers, or trolleys to position machinery is a key part of the job.
- Using technical expertise to recommend equipment upgrades based on economical and professional judgment and notifying the Lead Hand or Supervisor of potential hazards and required corrective actions.
- Using drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications to assist with duties.
- Maintaining a clean work environment, working with and assisting other tradespersons as needed, and performing all duties in accordance with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act, government rules and regulations, and company policies.
Your Qualifications
Qualifications for the role include an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification, with preference given to candidates possessing a Red Seal certification. Ideally, applicants should have years of experience in either a manufacturing environment or industrial maintenance. You are a great team player and are also able to work independently. You also have the ability to excel in a demanding, high pace environment and are flexible to changing priorities.
Your qualifications include :
