Financial Accountant

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Range: $69,100.25 - $77,772.94
Location: Hybrid. Office address 153 Frederick Street, Kitchener, with options for virtual work

Leading financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting for the organization; supporting operational and capital budgeting; and providing backup and support for day-to-day accounting functions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Supporting and backing up the Finance team, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
2. Leading the year-end audit process and supporting financial reporting.
3. Reviewing month-end working papers with the accounting team and overseeing reconciliation processes.
4. Supporting capital planning and operational budgets.
5. Ensuring accurate reporting of monthly budgets versus actual results and reviewing these with management.
6. Overseeing financial reporting to funders, ensuring contractual compliance.
7. Assisting Payroll and HR teams with payroll processing and transaction reviews.
8. Completing general ledger postings accurately and timely.
9. Monitoring and approving all bank payments.
10. Adhering to accounting policies and procedures, and identifying process improvements.

Experience in leadership and supporting improvement initiatives, CPA designation (or working toward), experience creating reports for funders, analyzing financial data for strategic decisions, and understanding of ASNPO standards for Not-For-Profit organizations.
