Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst, position, under general supervision, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial and economic analysis projects. Additional responsibilities include evaluating the accounting and financial records of the company to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.

This position is part of the Global Finance team which was established in 2011 as a global support function for Linamar finance. Since then, the team has grown to support multiple functions across the business, including M&A, emergency support at a facility level, system implementations, and overall process improvements at both a Corporate and Linamar wide level. Performance Expectations

  • Working as part of the Global Finance team to support continuous initiatives.
  • Support the Close Process for Linamar globally for various aspects of the income statement and balance sheet utilizing various ERP systems and consolidation systems.
  • Prepare consolidated financial reporting and analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis, including preparing presentations to upper management.
  • Responsible for detailed analysis at a Consolidated Group level for various income statement items and variance analysis with explanation and follow up for all significant items.
  • Ad Hoc reporting to the Vice President, Global Finance as well as ad hoc support to various ongoing Corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Interact with finance and cross-functionally to support overall Linamar goals and objectives.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Credentials

  • Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
  • Enrolled in or completed the CPA program.
  • Minimum two years of related financial experience.
  • Ability to interpret detailed data sets and visualize appropriately for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to work in a fully computerized environment including advanced Excel skills, proficient in other MS office applications, and knowledge of PowerBI and IFS systems is an asset.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines and willing to work overtime to meet deadlines when required.

  • Ability to discuss a variety of accounting and work-related topics with co-workers and colleagues.
  • Continuously maintain current knowledge of all organizational accounting practices through seminars, webinars and professional conferences as needed.
