MainStreet Project (MSP) is a community health Centre with a mandate to address thesocial determinants of health which give rise to issues of addiction physicaland mental health issues and homelessness. MSP uses housing-first and harmreduction principles in the provision of a safe respectful and accessibleplace for individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk ofhomelessness in the community. Job Summary
The Van OutreachManager provides overall management and supervision of Main Street Projects(MSP) van outreach program and associated services including (but not limitedto) the supervision of staff students volunteers interns and the programbudget. The Van Outreach Manager also leads the development and implementationof program policies and procedures and the coordination with other programswithin the Agency to ensure seamless and comprehensive services. The VanOutreach Manager is additionally responsible for liaising with external partiesincluding (but not limited to) folks experiencing homelessness City andProvincial staff stakeholders and other parties with a goal of building andmaintaining relationships built on trust and strong collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight :
- Ensurethe programs overall operations continuously run efficiently deliveringprogram services in the most consistent manner possible
- Responsiblefor the development implementation and maintenance of program policiesprocedures and activities consistent with MSPs mission values and goals
- Provideperiodic review evaluation and modification of programs in accordance withMSPs mission and contractual obligations
- Responsiblefor the supervision of program staff students volunteers and interns
- Ensurethat programs and activities reflect the needs of clients
- Responsiblefor determining staffing needs participating in the interviewing processaligning staffing with budgets managing resources and manage staffperformance
- Planstaffing levels in accordance with budgets; ensures appropriate numbers ofstaff are scheduled in each program and on each shift to meet / exceed programdelivery
- Partnerswith the Human Resources Department to recruit interview select hire andemploy an appropriate number of staff to meet program goals
- Coachmentor and develop staff including onboarding; empower employees to takeresponsibility for their jobs and goals.
- Enhancerelationships with other City / Community Services including WFPS WPS EMR andall outreach teams (RaY DCSP Salvation Army etc.) as well as partnerrepresentatives from the Province.
- Workclosely with City Services to respond to 311 calls pertaining to encampmentsand encampment clean-ups
- Leadingsector Encampment Coordination meetings with internal and externalcollaborators and updating on existing encampments and people livingunsheltered
- Supportingrequired outcomes related to the Provinces Your Way Home Strategy (YWH)ensuring accurate data keeping on community members wanting to be housedmaintaining positive relationships with internal / external housing partners (Sunshine House Siloam Mission etc.) attending all YWH meetings
- Tracksparticipant transitions from Transitional Housing into other housing optionsincluding MSP-operated housing; once housed within MSP internal tracking ismanaged by the assigned Case Management Coordinator with re-entry into encampments triggering a return to outreach support.
- Createstreamline approaches to collect and review data
- Reviewdaily documentation and provide feedback recommendation and coordinationwithin MSP and other outreach services.

Createa culturally safe and secure environment where people feel safe and drawstrength in their identity culture and communityProvidedirect service to community members through crisis intervention counseling casemanagement KM1 JM2 participant grievance / dispute resolution outreach andother service activities as necessary in conjunction with other departmentsEnsurefull 24 / 7 staff coverage across programParticipantServices :

Managetrain and coach staff developing a strong and skilled teamOverseeschedules for all shifts resolve scheduling issues and fill in schedulinggaps as neededEnsurestaff receive timely and meaningful feedback about job performance conductand attendance; ensure documentation is providedHelpensure effective communication across shiftsDirectlyaddress and manage staff issues including staff complaints conflictresolution and disciplinary issues; document issues and ensure appropriateteam members are notified on matters of concernProvidesupport to all staff including responding to emergencies from staff on-site orfrom on-call providing site coverageParticipatein program and organizational development and attend staff and team meetingsOn-Call Duties :
