Overview We’re seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee all financial operations and guide a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings strong strategic insight, and is passionate about supporting sound financial decisions across an organization.
What You’ll Do • Lead and support the finance team, fostering growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Oversee the development and maintenance of financial policies, internal controls, documentation, and secure financial systems. • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting, analysis, and guidance to senior leadership and internal stakeholders. • Support departments in preparing and managing operating and capital budgets, providing training, oversight, and variance reporting. • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and ensure all necessary reports, reconciliations, and financial statements are prepared on schedule. • Manage procurement, payments, billing, collections, asset oversight, banking, and financial instruments. • Monitor infrastructure and funding programs, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting. • Build a positive team culture and lead recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management within the finance department. • Take on other responsibilities as needed to support organizational goals. What You Bring • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. • A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in financial management, ideally within a large organization or public sector environment. • At least three years of supervisory experience; unionized environment experience is an asset. • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing. • Strong understanding of public sector accounting standards, financial systems, and internal controls. • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex workloads, and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines. • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present information clearly and respectfully. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial software. • Strong analytical, strategic, and critical-thinking skills. • A commitment to professional development, teamwork, equity, and building a positive workplace culture. • Willingness to work occasional evenings for meetings or events.INT001
