The Opportunity
The Dietitian reporting to the Director of Care oversees the dietary needs of residents their families staff and the broader community using a holistic resident-centered approach. As a member of the care team the Dietitian collaborates to ensure resident care addresses nutritional and dietary needs effectively.
What You Will Do
Complete Nutrition Assessments and contribute to RAI assessments as applicable for all residents upon admission. Review and update care plans based on nutrition risk levels.
Interpret and individualize diet orders including texture modifications and therapeutic diets.
Assess swallowing ability within scope of practice and in consultation with internal and community nurses and physicians.
Communicate with care team members to provide effective nutritional support and ensure high-quality resident care.
Educate residents and staff on nutrition and dietary issues.
Consult with residents and families regarding nutrition-related concerns and care plans.
Promote effective communication and public relations internally and externally to support quality resident care.
What You Bring
Completion of a Baccalaureate Program in Dietetics from a recognized university program.
Eligibility and / or Registration with the provincial regulatory body (i.e. College of Dietitians of BC).
Previous clinical nutrition experience in a healthcare facility or program preferred.
Experience in gerontology is an asset.
Fluent in English both written and spoken to effectively communicate with residents families and the healthcare team.
