Job Description Summary : This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, acting as the first point of contact for potential clients in the US and Canada. The role is a proactive problem‑solver with a passion for understanding a customer's business and recommending high‑value solutions from our extensive portfolio of gas, welding, and safety offers.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify potential customers and follow up on marketing‑generated leads from various channels, including email campaigns, social media (LinkedIn), and outbound prospecting to build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities for the region's account managers.
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads by assessing their needs, budget, timeline, and decision‑making authority.
- Search for and evaluate Government tenders on official portals; review solicitation documents to identify opportunities aligned with Airgas products, provide summaries to the regional management team, and coordinate timely bid submissions.
- Conduct research on target accounts and key contacts to understand operational challenges and safety requirements.
- Identify key decision‑makers, influencers, and stakeholders within prospect organizations.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to tailor outreach and conversations.
- Act as a trusted initial consultant, using active listening to diagnose customer pain points.
- Clearly articulate Airgas's value proposition, matching products, services, and safety programs to each prospect’s needs.
- Recommend appropriate solutions such as gas and equipment, VMI for safety supplies, or comprehensive training programs.
- Track all activities, communications, and prospect data in Salesforce, ensuring a clean and accurate pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and provide feedback on lead quality.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.1–3 years of experience in an inside sales, business development, or lead generation role, preferably in a B2B environment.Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and confident phone presence.Proficient with Salesforce and Google Suite.Highly organized, self‑motivated, and resilient with a strong work ethic and the ability to handle rejection.Curious and analytical mindset, with genuine interest in understanding customer challenges.Seniority Level
