One of our major clients is looking for an Environmental Advisor to join their team on a contract opportunity until the end of 2025 in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.
Key Activities and Responsibilities :
- Provide onsite environmental presence to interface directly and efficiently with all operational units, providing guidance on environmental and regulatory matters for site
- Be readily available in case of events that require environmental support
- Ensure regulatory requirements and best management practices are met by developing, planning, coordinating and managing environmental monitoring programs and associated external reporting
- Facilitate continuous improvement of environmental performance through the assessment of current programs for optimization and enhancement opportunities
- Provide onsite environmental support for incident management (available to respond during off-hours on 4th week rotation)
- Ability to work in both office and field environments in different seasons to support operations and site regulatory requirements.
Qualifications :
Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as environmental science, environmental engineering, resource management or equivalentClass 5 Driver’s licenseExperience :
5+ years of progressively responsible experience within an operational setting of a facility or plantExperience in the application of provincial and federal environmental regulations & reporting, environmental performance indicators, and knowledge of environmental management systemsA strong background in the management of environmental monitoring programs relating to air, water, groundwater, spill response and waste considered an assetSkills :
