Job Description
Invoke is looking for a Senior Systemic Game Designer to join our creative team and develop game systems and mechanics for our next game.
The ideal candidate is passionate about gameplay and player experience, displays mastery over the various facets of game design and is able to show high level of ownership and leadership on a project .
What You'll Do
Collaborate with the creative leadership to develop the game’s vision into practical and executable designs
Own 3C game features and systems end-to-end from the design side, concepting and building interactive objects creation that put a systemic approach to the forefront
Craft new features to hit product goals and lead agile prints for features implementation
Guide the team through development and iteration on the feature, including working with production to scope, prioritize, and schedule and working with programmers, level designers, and QA to deliver on that plan
Coordinate with other designers and departments, particularly level designers to insert gameplay elements specifically conceived to emphasis gameplay loops that make use of systemic game mechanics and enemy interactions
Establish recipes for creative gameplay loops based on permutations between player mechanics, and ensure their implementations in the game
Become the owner and guardian of our systemic approach for everything concerning gameplay ingredients ( smart-objects ) and how they interact with our game mechanics and enemies
Responsible for implementing gameplay ingredients in the maps to ensure emphasis on true systemic gameplay is respected throughout all departments and that the approach fulfills the player fantasy of interacting with the world
Collaborate with other designers and team members on the fundamentals of elegant design, feedback triage, and adaptive design.
What You'll Bring
8+ years of game design / development on AAA titles
Experience implementing designs in Unreal or similar engine
Experience in feature design, and be able to build fun gameplay that drives player engagement
Initiative to push boundaries and a strong desire to build something outstanding
Excellent interpersonal skills
Live services support is a plus
Excellent communications skills in French and English.
