The Manager, Technology will contribute to the overall success of Coast Hotels by providing leadership and support for the technology department while ensuring alignment with Coast Hotels’ short- and long-term strategies. The Manager will ensure the continued growth and development of the team members and maximize operational efficiencies related to technology, including internal and external customer satisfaction and support of the brand.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Director, Technology to support the implementation of a departmental plan and measurable objectives for the department that supports the company’s overall strategy, i.e. establishing network architecture design and standards, developing and implementing policies for review and suitability of systems, equipment, and network asset management, including maintenance and potential growth of network component inventory, and system assets
- Communicates department goals to others, including team members, other Leaders, etc.
- Collaborates with other Managers, Supervisors, and Ambassadors to identify and analyze business requirements and the implications for the team; identifies gaps and implements agreed upon solutions
- Reviews departmental plan and performance to identify areas for improvement that would contribute to enhanced business performance and to identify opportunities that would support business growth
- Communicates change initiatives and monitors implementation, clearly articulating the rationale for change and impacts on the department, and operations, more generally
- Considers the product / service delivered and maintaining the product / service relative to the Coast brand and image
- Forecasts and proactively addresses needs and situations related to network, systems and equipment, and service standards
- Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met, i.e : responding to tickets, creating efficiencies, and improving productivity and performance of network, systems, and equipment
- Adheres to departmental budgets and prioritizes resource allocations appropriately
- Communicates and monitors company policies and practices and how they relate to Technology; supports in the communication of clear objectives, targets, and operational quality standards for the Technology departments.
- Focuses on short and long-term priorities, maintaining a big picture perspective
- Manages and oversees the work of others within the Technology department including ongoing supervisory responsibilities such as delegating work flow, motivating and coaching team members, communicating goals, assisting with performance management, and following up on internal / external inquiries where possible
- Helps to build a strong team with the capabilities to deliver on the business plan through effective recruitment, communication, and team practices; ensures the team’s ongoing development
- Helps to create an environment that is motivating and engaging
- Resolves guest service issues, and identifies potential barriers to guest services; works with others to remove barriers to service excellence across Coast’s operation by providing responsive service solutions creating value for colleagues and guests
- Anticipates and is flexible to the changing needs of guests as special events and circumstances arise working collaboratively with colleagues to create solution-oriented environments
- Maintains an awareness of evolving expectations, trends, and technologies in area of specialty and works to ensure that Coast Hotels stays competitive
- Lives the Coast Values and reflects the brand in the community; fosters a positive image of Coast Hotels in the community
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Diploma or certificate in area of expertiseMinimum 7 years of technology work experience : hospitality industry experience an assetAdvanced knowledge in the use of Network Operating Systems, WAN and LAN, network switching, IP, Storage systems, Microsoft Exchange, MS Azure, MS Active Directory, M365, MS EntraStrong commitment to customer service with a keen ability to listenAdvanced knowledge of printer, desktop, laptop, and related peripherals, servers, and networkingExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityProfessional appearance and attitudeHigh attention to detailExcellent time management and organizational skillsAbility to lead and motivate othersAdvanced analytical and critical thinking abilityInterest in learning and operating new technologiesAbility to travel to various locations and flexibility in work schedules to meet operational and project workExemplifies Coast's Core Values and enjoys working in a culture of accountabilityCoast Hotels offers a variety of benefits, including competitive wages & benefits, employee discounts, training & development, career advancement opportunities & more!
