Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks Make detailed sketches for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipes, valves and fittings Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks Remove and replace worn components and do general maintenance workRequired Knowledge and SkillsCertified Journeyperson Trade Ticket or indentured in the apprenticeship program 2-3 years’ experience reading piping and instrumentation design diagrams 2-3 years’ experience laying out and installing piping, tubing, fittings, and all related components.

2-3 years’ experience installing, testing, and maintaining low- and high-pressure steam and condensate systems 2-3 years’ experience rigging, hoisting, lifting, and positioning equipment.

2-3 Years’ Oil / Gas Industry experience Physical strength and stamina Manual dexterity Mechanical aptitude The ability to read and understand complex instructions and drawings The ability to do careful and precise work May be required to lift items weighing over 25 kilograms Must be willing to work in remote job locations Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Must have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job siteCompensation and Benefits$45.
