Job description

Are you an expert in heavy machinery and construction equipment mechanics, and do you like challenges in the field?

This is the job for you! As a service technician at Tessier and Boréal Cranes, you'll be at the heart of field operations, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of machines : cranes, trucks, trailers, forklifts and everything else that helps us accomplish major lifting projects.

There's no routine here : each day will take you into unique environments where your expertise will make all the difference, and you'll have a service vehicle at your disposal to move around the various operating sites.

We're looking for someone who's solid, self-reliant, who can read hydraulic and electrical plans with his eyes closed, and who's not afraid to get his hands dirty to keep things running smoothly.

If you don't have any crane experience, but you're tempted by the adventure, we can train you.

Specifically, the main responsibilities of the service technician are to :

  • Service and maintain equipment (e.g., truck tractor, trailers, wheel loaders, cranes, AT, RT, etc.)
  • Diagnose computer and other error codes quickly and accurately, depending on the circumstances, in order to carry out a precise and appropriate repair
  • Ensure all field service requests are handled professionally
  • Ensure the return of unused parts at the end of field service work
  • Submit accurate and relevant service reports using the software provided
  • Perform all other related tasks as required by the foreman

Working conditions

  • Permanent position
  • Schedule of 42.5 hours, from 07 : 30 AM to 12 : 00 PM and from 13 : 00 PM to 17 : 00 PM, Monday to Friday

  • Relevant professional experience required
  • Construction Skills Map
  • Mastery of hand tools, computer tools, flashlights, welding equipment, pneumatic tools, air conditioning, etc.
  • Excellent computer skills (e-mail, supplier websites, technical diagnostic programs, Jaltest, etc.)
  • Class 3 driver's license (an asset)
  • PEP" certification (an asset)
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills in French and intermediate level in English (must be able to read manuals)
  • Excellent time and priority management skills
  • Availability for travel to remote areas, sometimes at short notice
