Operations Engineer

We are seeking an individual to fulfill the responsibilities of an Operations Engineer on our Operations team. This role is responsible for optimizing production from wells and facilities and lowering operating costs while ensuring both a safe and environmentally responsible operation that remains compliant with all government regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for production operations including directing the repair and maintenance of production and optimization of all wells and facilities in the assigned area and execute any required well interventions with wireline, coil, or service rig.
  • Monitor and report on production variances to budget and recommend and execute actions to maintain budgeted production and optimize costs.
  • Accountable for well tie-ins and pipeline construction in the assigned area supervising an EPC and field inspectors.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments within the company to ensure the efficient flow of information between office and field.
  • Evaluate operational aspects of potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Forecast marketing volumes.
  • Work with field staff and provide support on a day to day as issues may arise.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • Member of APEGA in good standing or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) in good standing with ASET.
  • Minimum 8 years of Engineering experience.
  • Expertise in oil and gas software (i.e., GeoScout, field data capture).
  • Detailed knowledge of field operations and provincial regulations.
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to learn.
  • Works equally well with other team members or individually.
  • High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
