Job Type : Temporary.
Initial Term : ASAP for initial term of 3-6 months, with possibility of direct hire.
Target Compensation : $28 per hour to $35, with some flexibility according to experience.
Regular Work Hours : FULL TIME WORK HOURS – 7.25 work hours per day, not including unpaid .75 hour lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location : 100% onsite at client's North York office, accessible by bus and free parking provided.
Position Reports to : Procurement Manager
Responsibilities Summary :
To provide coordination support for a variety of procurement and logistical tasks in a fast-paced public sector environment.
- Work extensively with interdisciplinary teams of internal and external stakeholders to meet agency procurement needs in an efficient and effective manner.
- Conduct research on prospective suppliers and contractors, providing recommendations to agency based on analysis of price, quality and availability.
- Prepare comprehensive reports of comparative pricing information.
- Provide technical assistance to management related to selection of contractors, suppliers and products.
- Monitor and enforce statutory guidelines in relation to the custody, secure storage and disposition of used and unused physical agency property.
- Act as primary contact for suppliers to obtain quotes, arrange and negotiate deliveries, and investigate and resolve product and service delivery problems. Provide direct support to external stakeholders through procurement process.
- Provide leadership to procurement project plans and critical paths, identifying priorities, monitoring and controlling progress of multiple conflicting responsibilities to ensure completion within established deadlines.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in related discipline, or applicable combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Work Experience : 3+ years of progressive experience in complex procurement and logistics.
Preferred Sector Experience : Previous complex procurement experience in large public or regulatory organization. Procurement experience in the Ontario public sector considered a strong asset.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements :
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement methodologies, logistics theories and best practices.Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Superior English communication skills, verbally and written, with excellent interpersonal and active listening skills to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.Advanced knowledge of complex procurement including the “25 Broader Public Sector Directives”.Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes :
Strong commitment to compliance with procurement policies, operational guidelines and business processes governing public procurement in Ontario.Strong planning, project management and organizational skills in a fast paced and fluid environment with multiple conflicting priorities.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of governing acts, legislation, regulations including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent HR related legislation.Highly adaptable, with demonstrated experiencing working in an environment with shifting priorities, and strong strategic thinking skills to anticipate workflow challenges and apply best practice solutions.Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders, able to achieve common goals through problem solving skills.Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.Detail oriented and accountable throughout full cycle of procurement projects, able to identify short and long term aims and risks and execute achievement of goals.Additional Requirements :
