Prepares the necessary materials and repairs plaster, gypsum, brick, tile and terracotta
walls
- Installs the lath and metal corner beads to be coated
- Select colors and mixes with base paint
- Be required to put up scaffolding
- Spread proper drop sheets over work area, floor and furniture
- Use stencils for lettering and decorating
- Refinish some types of furniture
- Estimate and order quantity of paint required
- Remove old vinyl or wallpaper from walls, where necessary
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
- Responsible for patient safety rules when determining which paint and primer to use,
ie. Toxic materials.

- Minor installations required in work area Requirements : REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in building painting from a school recognized
by the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports.
Must hold a P-licensed Painter skill card issued by the Empowered Ministry or
equivalent skills
- Must have a companion card issued by the CCQ
- Must have knowledge of solvents. (WHIMIS)
