  • Prepares the necessary materials and repairs plaster, gypsum, brick, tile and terracotta

walls

  • Installs the lath and metal corner beads to be coated
  • Select colors and mixes with base paint
  • Be required to put up scaffolding
  • Spread proper drop sheets over work area, floor and furniture
  • Use stencils for lettering and decorating
  • Refinish some types of furniture
  • Estimate and order quantity of paint required
  • Remove old vinyl or wallpaper from walls, where necessary
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
  • Responsible for patient safety rules when determining which paint and primer to use,

    • ie. Toxic materials.

  • Plastering
  • Minor installations required in work area Requirements  : REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in building painting from a school recognized

    • by the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sports.

  • Must hold a P-licensed Painter skill card issued by the Empowered Ministry or

    • equivalent skills

  • Must have a companion card issued by the CCQ
  • Must have knowledge of solvents. (WHIMIS)
