Senior Financial Analyst
Permanent Full Time-Hybrid
The Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) provides specialized care and services to those individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Wound Care, Respiratory Therapy, and Transitional & Remote Care. The care and services provided at TGHC help facilitate the patient flow through the health care system and ensures recovery to those individuals who may return to their homes or to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in their communities. TGHC operates in 2 sites - the Main site (Church& Bloor St), Harbour Lights and a Specialized Care Centre (Victoria Park & McNicoll).

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst assists to closely monitoring the financial health across the Toronto Grace Healthcare Network. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in providing evidence based-analysis for the informed and effective decision-making process. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Financial Reporting and Analysis :
- Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Responsible for financial variations to expectations, investigate gaps and provide explanations
- Assisting in the development of briefing notes and reports for presentation to senior management, standing committees, and to the ministry
- Providing financial support and expertise in evaluating various business initiatives and reinvestment strategies
- Responsible for assessing Ministry funding agreements, setting up accounting treatment and reporting against defined targets
- Financial Modeling including sensitivity analysis, contribution margin, scenario analysis, costing, rate / volume analysis, budget modeling, and any other financial analysis required by senior management
- Ad-hoc projects and other assignments as required
Financial Accounting :
Prepare month end journal entries and assist in account reconciliationsPrepare and remit sales tax reports to CRAYear-end Audit :
Support the year-end audit process with external Ministry and Financial auditorsAssist creating the external audit financial statements with working papers and other audit requestsPrepare annual T3010 returnTreasury :
Report day to day cash balancesQUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION :
University degree in business, accounting, or related fieldMandatory Accounting Designation, CPA (CA preferred) with designation in good standings5+ years proven accounting experience, preferably in a hospital industry settingPrevious Audit experience in an accounting firm and knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards would be considered an assetSuperior analytical skills and sound business and financial judgementStrong ability to translate financial metrics to various stakeholders across the businessExperience in data query and converting complex data into clear and concise information for clients with varying degrees of financial knowledge (SQL, PowerPivot)High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily strong Excel skills are a must haveExcellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills; solid business analysisProven ability to solve and prioritize a varied and heavy workload in a changing and fast paced environmentAbility to take initiative and be proactive in owning projects and processes, working independently without detailed instructionMulti-tasker with a solid sense of prioritization and the ability to work under pressure; well organizedProblem solver with a results-oriented approach; confident in dealing with operationsTrained in Ministry MIS and working knowledge of Ontario Health Record Keeping SystemStrong verbal communication and presentation skillsQualified candidates may apply to :
