Join a roller manufacturing / repair shop handling roller and journal repairs on manual equipment. Youll rebuild bearing surfaces via MIG weld build-up and machine them back to tolerance cut keyways on a milling machine machine retaining ring grooves and rethread or cut new threads on roller journals. Opportunity to fabricate new rollers / projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual lathes for roller / roller journal repairs.
Perform MIG weld build-ups on worn bearing surfaces; machine back to bearing tolerances.
Mill keyways machine retaining ring grooves and cut / re-cut internal / external threads.
Read and interpret blueprints and work from repair specs.
Select tooling set up fixturing and verify dimensions with precision measuring tools.
Troubleshoot setups hold tight tolerances and document work.
Maintain a clean safe work area and follow shop procedures.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a manual machinist in repair / rebuild environments.
Confident self-starter able to read blueprints and independently set up machines.
Proficiency with precision metrology (calipers micrometers gauges).
MIG welding experience for build-up prior to machining.
Owning basic personal tooling / measuring tools is an asset.
