Job Summary :

Patrol Officers report to the Area Manager and ensures that all dashboard tickets and parking permits are displayed and valid at various parking lots throughout the lower mainland. The working environment may be internal and / or external, which includes exposure to cold, dirt, vehicle exhausts, noise, dust, heat, odours, rain, and snow.

Location : North York, ON

Employment : Full-time

Hours : Monday-Friday

Compensation : Hourly

Mandatory Qualifications :

Valid ON drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract

Previous experience in parking enforcement or background in security are an asset; training will be provided

General knowledge of electronic equipment an asset

High school diploma

Mandatory Attributes :

Must be punctual and self disciplined; considered a self- starter

Ability to work and complete tasks with minimal supervision as this is an independent, on the road job; must also strive to work in team settings towards a common purpose

Ability to de-escalate situations should they arise;

Must be polite with professional attitude, well mannered & level headed

Excellent problem-solving skills, time-management and training skills

Detailed oriented, quick learner and thinker, efficient and possess good attitude, and work ethic

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well on their own or as part of a team

Good oral and written communication skills

Listening skills and the ability to understand and explain procedures in professional manner

Flexible, patient, diplomatic, courteous, tactful and with high level of integrity

Job Responsibilities / Duties :

Review and understand daily scheduled routes prior to dispatching for shift

Review dispatch email for any client requests / check calendar for any events

Respond directly to client requests for enforcement in a swift and timely manner, communicate with client to confirm receipt and debrief once call has been attended to

Inspect vehicle & required devices prior to departing for shift; report any issues to manager immediately

Follow procedures regarding log sheets / recording site visits

Carefully check expiration date / time of parking receipts displayed on dashboards, as well as approved hangtags where applicable

Run plates through enforcement software at applicable sites to confirm registration

Ensure accuracy in issuing infractions (correct information on ticket)

Ensure devices are returned as they were taken, and placed back on charging units for next shifts

Arranging towing of vehicles where applicable, under By-Law regulations

Ability to work outdoors, within a sheltered garage environment

Mandatory health & safety training required to be completed upon hire

Litter pick up and general maintenance of parking equipment

Other duties as assigned
