Children's and Youth Ministry Lead

Position DescriptionOVERVIEWIn2one Community Church (C&MA) is looking for a creative and passionate leader that seeks to use their spiritual gifts to serve children and youth. Our church believes the spiritual development and well-being of our children and youth is an essential part of discipleship and outreach.

The main purpose of the position is to renew, build, and coordinate the Kid’s Church and Youth programs at our church and in the community. This includes overseeing Sunday programming, but more importantly, special events, outreach, and day-to-day organization. This role is all about creating fun, engaging opportunities for children to come into contact with Jesus so that they can thrive and build a foundation of faith in their formative years. You’ll lead, develop, and partner with parents, volunteers, and staff to create spaces where kids are loved, secure, encouraged, and excited to discover life with Jesus!

ROLE / EXPECTATIONS

We are excited to develop and build this new role together in a creative and flexible way, however general expectations would include :

Children's / Youth Ministry Leadership

In partnership with the Steering Committee, work on developing a vision and specific goals for Kids and Youth Ministry. Recruiting, equipping, and mobilizing volunteers.

Provide mentorship and leadership opportunities that inspire spiritual renewal in young people.

Planning Programs for Children and Teens

Organize and oversee programs for children and teens (Sunday mornings, evening groups etc..).

Design and implement creative, Christ-centred programming for children, youth, and families that addresses contemporary challenges and interests.

Assist in the process of purchasing supplies and curriculum planning. Implementing Programs for Children and Teens Foster an environment where children feel loved, valued, and empowered to become all that God has called them to be.

Ensure all programming is open, welcoming, and accessible to individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

Use multimedia tools, storytelling, social media, and other engaging approaches to make programs accessible and exciting for everyone. Engaging with families of children and teens, the in2one congregation, and the broader community Extend a warm and inclusive invitation to children, youth, and families, encouraging them to join and actively participate in church life.

Equip and encourage parents to nurture their children in their faith at home.

Develop family-oriented events that are engaging, fun, and spiritually enriching, such as game nights, service projects, or creative worship experiences.

Oversee special events, camps, outreach initiatives geared towards children and teens

Encourage intergenerational relationships by involving children in broader church life.

Develop outreach programs that connect with families in the broader community, welcoming them to explore faith and find a spiritual home.

Encourage youth and families to invite their friends and peers to church events, fostering a growing and vibrant community. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Passionate about kids and youth with a creative edge Strong organizational abilities and communication skills (oral and written)

Being ready to give announcements regarding upcoming events and ministry info

Knowledge of Plan to Protect or similar training for working with vulnerable people

Theological training and background is an asset. HOURS / COMPENSATION

Salary to be determined based on experience / qualifications. Time commitment is Part-Time : 15 to 20 hours weekly (to be negotiated). We are open to discussing a strategic plan of having multiple part-time roles depending on gifting and availability. This role is pivotal in ensuring that In2one Kids and Youth is a thriving, Christ-centred ministry where children experience Jesus in a meaningful way.
