Caring Nanny Needed for Wonderful 6-Year-Old (Roncesvalles, Toronto)

We are seeking a nurturing and reliable nanny to join our family and care for our 6-year-old son in the Roncesvalles area of Toronto—a great neighborhood with parks and community resources nearby.

About Our Family :

Our son is autistic, non-verbal, and has some physical disabilities. He is a joyful, curious child who thrives with attentive and supportive caregivers. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate nanny who is passionate about helping children with special needs.

Schedule :

Monday : 3 : 00pm–7 : 30pm

Tuesday : 9 : 30am–6 : 30pm

Wednesday : 12 : 00pm–7 : 30pm

Thursday : 3 : 00pm–7 : 30pm

Friday : 3 : 00pm–7 : 30pm

Occasional evening or weekend availability would be wonderful, but is not required.

Key Responsibilities :

• Pick up our son from school and bring him home (a car is not necessary—school and home are accessible by walking or public transit)
• Engage our son in enriching activities (reading, music, games, simple art, sensory play)
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for him
• Take him on daily walks and outings (parks, libraries, etc.) He loves to be outside!
• Support with potty breaks and diaper changes
• Provide attentive, individualized care tailored to his needs

Requirements :

• Experience caring for children with autism and developmental delays (essential)
• Comfortable supporting non-verbal children and using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, gestures)
• Current CPR / First Aid certification
• Food Safety training (or willingness to obtain)
• Multiple references from previous families or work
• Willingness to complete a background and vulnerable sector check
• Patient, honest, dependable, and genuinely compassionate

Compensation : $25 per hour

Start Date & Commitment : Position available to begin ASAP. We are hoping to find someone who is interested in a long-term role.
