Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family in 2022, and we are on track to build an exclusive new IP for Playstation and grow the first Sony game development team in Canada.

Position Senior Financial Analyst

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with the leaders of finance, production and management teams to drive financial insights and strategic decision-making processes to support our business objectives.

They will define and drive the strategy of an original AAA game, that enables the game to successfully achieve its targets in terms of financial performance and lifespan.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability for AAA game titles.
  • Conduct variance analysis and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize NPV, ROI and other financial performance measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and production to support strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
  • Build a strong relationship with our partners at headquarters and ensure they have a clear understanding of budget forecasts and actuals as well as revenue streams.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and headquarter stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and insights.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to assist in decision-making processes.
  • Work with the current tools to upload forecasts, help develop requirements for new Live Service financial tools.
  • Act as a strategic partner to various departments, providing financial insights and guidance to support business objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams to enhance communication and collaboration.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and economic conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities for the business.
  • Mentor other members of the finance team on forecasting and business modeling best practices.
  • Maintain tools to build and simulate scenarios impacting P&L, such as cost control, monetization parameters and impact on game’s daily and long-term live performance.
  • Optimize financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant track record and experience in financial analysis with a Live Service game.
  • Deep knowledge in the key performance indicators that drive success in Live Service Games.
  • Bachelors in Commerce or equivalent professional experience.
  • Deep experience launching successful live service products (PC / Console / Mobile).
  • Avid gamer and strong interest in the gaming industry.
  • Thorough understanding of acquisition, retention, and monetization concepts as they relate to games as a service.
  • Experience with structured, hypothesis-driven product improvements, rigorous metrics analysis, consumer insights and design experimentation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partners and positively influence your ecosystem.
  • Positive influence, negotiation, and strong communication skills.
