The Opportunity As a Procurement Officer at Pomerleau, you will be responsible of supply chain operations. Supporting our work on Major Projects ranging from $500 million to multi-billion dollars - your primary objective is to ensure that goods and materials are transported, stored and distributed efficiently to meet project needs through engaging various service and material providers in competitive tension to achieve cost-efficiency and budget success.
Specific tasks : Manage project supplier and contractor relationships and accounts with assigned key / strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance.
Identify potential subtrades and suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring best value for money.
Prepare tender documents for procurement of subcontractors / suppliers including term and condition of contract, construction methodologies and schedule, pricing requirements with other project team members.
Develop and maintain procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance metrics. Monitor supplier performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and vendors. Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans accordingly.
Develop and prepare reports for the managing staff to give an update of the procurement process. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in procurement or quantity surveying, preferably in ICI construction for large scale infrastructure projects with national contractors.
Experience in leading the procurement process for materials and subcontracts for major capital construction projects with national contractors, in developing the strategic procurement plan to ensure on time delivery of materials and subcontracts for high value civil engineering projects Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local suppliers across Canada would be an asset.
Practical experience of procurement processes, methods, practices, contract administration, and accounting and scheduling principles.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, negotiation, and supplier management. Availability to travel to monitor supplier’s performance, production and schedules as needed.
The expected salary range for this opportunity is 94,000 - $127,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.
