Overview :
Our client is an international mining technology company with research and development operations in the Vancouver area. Due to continued growth, they require the immediate services of an experienced Electrical Engineer. Successful candidates will help to develop and test equipment that will shape the mining industry for years to come. Our client is one of only a handful of companies pushing the limits of BEV mining technology and their team in the Vancouver area plays a pivotal role in the research and development for our client’s next generation of equipment. The team you would join is currently in the prototype stage of the development of our client’s next-generation electrical infrastructure to support BEVs in mining. They are a tight-knit team of Engineers who strive to deliver the best products possible, and enjoy the process of taking something from a drawing on a whiteboard to a product in the customer’s hands.
What you will be doing :
- A day at work could mean you are designing complex systems, reading whitepapers to further your knowledge, or bringing your design to life in their prototype facility.
- Due to continued growth, they will be moving to a brand new facility in Port Coquitlam, scheduled for the spring of 2026.
What you must have :
Electrical Engineering degree, diploma or similar4 or more years of industry experience. Infrastructure, automation, or automotive industry preferredKnowledge of various electrical components, including circuit protection, power distribution modules, relays, sensors and various power electronicsExperience creating detailed and deciphering wiring schematics and diagramsMeticulous attention to detailAbility to work quickly, diligently, and independentlyAbility to communicate with coworkers honestly, confidently and coherentlyNice to have :
Experience with high capacity / high voltage batteries or battery electric vehiclesProgramming experience : C / C++, Python, Java, ladder logic, etc.5 or more years of industry experienceExperience with Creo, AutoCAD, Matlab and Simulink etc.Basic mechanical understandingStrong mathematical and problem-solving abilitiesExperience with basic PCB design and testingOnsite Commissioning experience (installing, testing, troubleshooting)Comfortable working and designing with high-voltage DC / ACKnowledge of power electronics such as inverters, motors, convertersA portfolio full of exciting personal projects and robot buildsSalary / Rate Range : $95,000-$125,000 base salary plus benefits
