MAKING AN IMPACT
Reporting to the Director, Data Strategy & Analytics, the Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Services is a hands-on data engineering leader responsible for building and advancing the organization’s data engineering, data services, and DevOps capabilities.
This role requires deep technical expertise to deliver scalable, automated, and maintainable data integrations, data services, and DevOps solutions using modern cloud technologies and platforms. You will also collaborate with business and technical teams to design and implement data solutions that adhere to security best practices, align with data governance standards.
Strong people leadership is essential as you will lead a team of Data Engineers and Specialists, oversee operational excellence, mentor team members, and coordinate work planning and execution.
You will manage enhancements and initiatives to ensure business goals are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.
You will play a key role in fostering a data-driven, innovation-focused engineering culture that leverages emerging technologies and modern design patterns to continuously improve how data is integrated, governed, and utilized across the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :
Technical Leadership :
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for the design, development, and delivery of scalable, automated, and maintainable data integrations, pipelines, services and DevOps solutions
- Define and implement robust solution architectures and designs for data integrations and services, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Ensure engineering best practices, coding standards and quality processes are consistently applied across all data initiatives.
- Drive adoption of modern technologies, cloud platforms and design patterns.
- Foster a culture of innovation, ownership and engineering excellence
Team Management & Mentorship :
Lead and support a team of Analytics Specialists, Integration Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers and QA Speciaists through effective planning, resource allocation, and performance management.Coach, develop, and mentor team members while driving a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.Recruit, onboard, and grow talent through targeted training and development initiatives.Project Delivery & Agile Practices :
Lead project delivery for enhancements and initiatives, ensuring business goals are achieved on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational prioritiesChampion Agile best practices - sprint planning, backlog management, iterative demos, retro review sessions and cross-team collaborationPartner with stakeholders to define requirements, manage risks, and ensure clear communication of progress, dependencies, and outcomesData Engineering & Services :
Design, develop, and maintain metadata-driven, performant and observable pipelines for data workflows, data analytics, and business intelligence using Microsoft Fabric and Azure platform technologiesBuild and maintain data services to enable data-driven decision-making and workflow automation across the organization.Implement scalable data transformation processes, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and maintainabilityWork with technical and business teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, integrations, governance, and analytics.Collaborate with data governance team to implement metadata management, data classification, sensitivity labeling, and lineage trackingContinuously evaluate emerging tools, frameworks and best practices to improve data engineering capabilitiesMaintain documentation for data architecture, pipelines, models, and processes in accordance with standards and governance policiesDevOps & Platform Engineering :
Establish and enforce security best practices for data solutions, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.Lead the development and maintenance of CI / CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks and code-first workflowsOversee infrastructure as code, orchestration, and deployment strategies for data pipelines and servicesEnsure observability, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines, integrations, and servicesPromote DevOps best practices across the team, including version control, branching strategies, and release managementCollaborate with cloud platform teams to optimize cloud infrastructure, security, and cost efficiencyEnsure operational excellence through monitoring, performance optimization, and adherence to standardsOther Duties :

Education & Certifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related disciplineRelevant Microsoft certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, DP-203 Azure Data Engineer Associate)Leadership & People Management :
Proven experience leading high‑performing data engineering, integration, or analytics teams, including managing performance, conducting reviews, and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.Strong mentorship and coaching abilities, with a demonstrated track record of recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining top technical talent.Project Delivery :
Experienced in delivering projects and enhancements on time and within scope, with strong skills in Agile practices such as sprint planning, backlog management, demos, and retrospectives.Strong communicator capable of conveying technical concepts, status updates, and project progress effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Technical Expertise :
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric platformsExpertise in Apache Spark, SQL, Python, ETL / ELT patterns, Lakehouse architecture, and Medallion data modelingDeep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, data warehouse design and integration platformsExperience overseeing CI / CD pipelines, code-first workflows, infrastructure-as-code, orchestration, and automated testing frameworksProven ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient, scalable, and maintainable data engineering solutionsExperience working with CRM platform data and services, Salesforce preferredBusiness Acumen & Communication :
