As the Senior Manager, Non-Hospital Surgical Facility (NHSF) , you will work with program team members to lead the accreditation process for diagnostic and treatment facilities. You will be responsible for providing leadership to direct reports to manage the accreditation and quality assurance process within the program area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the program operations to achieve departmental objectives :
  • Support the administration and operation of the accreditation programs including business planning and development of long-term strategies and budgeting.

  • Provide support to the Non-hospital Surgical Facility Advisory Committee.
  • Consult, provide advice and promote standardization initiatives to various partners and / or stakeholders provincially and nationally; and ensure that accreditation tools meet their needs.
  • Identify and coordinate educational initiatives to foster communication and promote quality enhancements within facilities and with accreditation assessors.
  • Maintain and facilitate the Standards / Accreditation process :
  • Gather and analyze information relating to the requirements and internal procedures from initiation to completion of facility / service accreditation.

  • Track activities / steps relating to accreditation assessments and communicate with facility staff, medical directors and assessors accordingly.
  • Correspond with physicians regarding required information and prepare assessment citation documents for site assessment. Maintain facility files and ensure database and assessment tracking system reflects accurate information.
  • Provide program expertise, advice, guidance and tools to support partners and / or stakeholders.
  • Support clinical accreditation programs in review and processing Reportable Incident document submissions.
  • Standards / Accreditation Processes :
  • Ensure alignment with best practices and reference standards and recommend continuous quality improvement to enhance procedures and the technical infrastructure.

  • Responsible for recruitment, retention, training and ongoing development of assessment personnel.
  • Oversee accreditation assessments and provide guidance to field teams to ensure a consistent and robust process.
  • Supervision & Team Development :
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to program team members.

  • Recruitment, development and retention of program team members.
  • Conduct program team members annual performance evaluations.
  • Liaise with external partners and / or stakeholders on supportive and educative initiatives, as required. This includes the Western Canada Diagnostic Accreditation Alliance (WCDAA) for participating program.
  • Support continuous quality improvement by identifying opportunities for program and process improvements.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Minimum Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related area

  • 8 years of nursing or surgical / infection prevention and control / MDR experience
  • Preferred Qualifications and Experience :
  • Nursing experience specific to peri-operative / surgical care

  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Quality management expertise
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare services
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and business writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and other IT applications
  • SALARY

    The annual salary for this position is $126,922 and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.

    During the 90-day probationary period, the successful candidate will be required to work from CPSA's downtown Edmonton office. At the conclusion of a successful probationary period, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
