Job descriptioncompleting timely and accurate estimates from floor plans, sketches, models, renderings, oral and written descriptions, and other sources of information breaking down projects into components as required by sales and / or the customer maintaining documentation and records to support projected cost of project keeping current on changes in production methods, material, labour costs and other standards evaluating feasibility of meeting client requirements obtain quotes / estimates from sub-contractors setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures preparing cost, expenditure statements and forecasts at specified intervals for the duration of a project preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors liaising and consulting with team members and preparing economic feasibility reports on changes and adjustments to cost estimates managing and coordinating construction projects and preparing construction progress schedules knowledge of all phases of exhibit design and production (or similar industry) and pricing standards ability to extract pertinent data from oral and written information and standard visual sources completion of a secondary school and several years experience as a qualified estimator in the construction trade completion of a 3 year college program in civil or construction engineering technology excellent mathematical skills, excel skills and related talents ability to work in a high pressure fast paced environment
position summary
Responsible for preparing estimates; controlling expenditures and evaluating feasibility of meeting client requirements by reviewing estimate requests, design drawings and specifications and gathering infiormation on labour, material, time and price quotes.
