Definition of Work :
Work involves providing nursing care and treatment services for the physically ill, disabled and / or cognitively impaired clients at Dr.
Hugh Twomey Center working within a Nurse Collegian I / II / III scope of practice. The successful candidate will be committed to working with all team members to provide safe and quality client care.
The Nurse Collegian will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications :
- Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
- Successful completion of the first year (Nurse Collegian I), second year (Nurse Collegian II) or third year (Nurse Collegian III) of a recognized nursing program.
- Current BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence.
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
- A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Hours of Work : Call as needed (Shift work may be required)
Salary : CG-24 ($22.41-$24.69)
