Job Description
Our client in the public sector is seeking a skilled Security Architect to join their team. This is a contract opportunity for 10 months and the role would be onsite at our client location in Orillia and Toronto. This role is expected to begin as soon as possible.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Defines, evaluates, and assesses security architecture requirements for systems environments and IT projects.
- Develops technical architecture, framework and strategies to meet the business and application requirements.
- Ensures the incorporation of IT security and contingency measures in the development of systems.
- Advises on the identification, analysis, and resolution of specific security factors, risks, vulnerabilities; protection of personal privacy issues; and appropriate industry and international security standards.
- Review application and program design or technical infrastructure design to ensure adherence to standards and to recommend performance improvements.
- Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems.
Qualifications and Skills
1. 3+ years of experience in a Security Architect Senior role
2. Experience with I&IT security concepts, programs, frameworks, and methodologies
3. Experience with risk and compliance assessments in high sensitivity environments
4. Experience with various solution development methodologies and security testing frameworks
General Skills
Strong understanding and expertise in security architectureKnowledge of techniques to secure information assets and the planning, design, and implementation of security technologies.Proven techniques to discover gaps or weaknesses in security architecture to identify and mitigate known security threats or inherent weaknesses.Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and corporate directives related to the security and confidentiality of information (e.g. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) in order to identify and assess areas of concern and riskSolid knowledge of current security and contingency technology and techniques (e.g. digital signature, encryption, access controls, fire-walls, authentication, virus protection, etc.); and a proven working knowledge of security audit procedures and protocols.Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) Experience analyzing and evaluating alternative technology solutions to meet business problemsKnowledge of risk management frameworks, industry best practices, security policy creation Expert understanding of routing and network protocolsDesirable Skills :
Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practiceExperience in Threat Risk Assessment methodsKnowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.Nice-to-Haves
