Join Broccolini—a family‑owned company recognized for delivering outstanding construction projects with a strong commitment to safety. We’re looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator who is passionate, detail‑oriented, and proactive to help ensure the well‑being of our teams across job sites.
Responsibilities
- Joint Health & Safety Committee: Set up and lead meetings, coordinate inspections, investigate work refusals, and collaborate with the Ministry of Labour when needed.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections, ensure corrective actions are followed through, monitor air quality, and help secure the site daily.
- Incident & Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency and evacuation plans, provide first aid, investigate incidents, and recommend preventive measures.
- Training & Awareness: Deliver site‑specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to ensure all trades and workers understand safe work practices.
- Administrative Support: Manage permits, inspection reports, qualification tracking, safety boards, and documentation related to compliance and enforcement.
Qualifications
- Must hold an NCSO designation or demonstrate equivalent safety certification and experience.
- Degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Calm under pressure and capable of influencing safe behavior.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
