Corporate Affairs

Lead team of communicators and web content specialists that manage BMO’s enterprise communication channels, including the intranet, email, public-facing blog and social sharing tool.

Responsible for delivering timely, accurate and compelling communications across multiple channels to drive employee engagement and business results.

Accountable for monitoring, analyzing and enhancing end-to-end performance of digital channels and communication strategies, while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders.

Please note this is a temporary maternity leave role with an end date of January 2026.

People management

  • Leads team focused on strategic content development, channel optimization, web content management and email distribution
  • Builds interdependent team that collaborates across groups to deliver multi-channel communication campaigns that create value for all stakeholders
  • Regularly connects work to BMO's Purpose, values and strategy, sets inspirational goals, defines clear expected outcomes, and ensures accountability for follow through.

Channels strategy

  • Oversees the coordination, execution and daily management of enterprise communication channels including intranet, email and blog, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of an integrated content publication strategy
  • Reviews channels for effectiveness, monitors and tracks performance and recommends enhancements
  • Develops solutions, make recommendations and provide counsel based on an understanding of the business strategy, stakeholder needs, communication best practices and industry trends
  • Leads channel optimization strategy including determining priorities based on business objectives and managing projects to ensure timely delivery of creative solutions
  • Proposes, manages and leads cross-functional channel optimization and enhancement projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintains awareness of communication best practices, industry trends and technological advancements to implement creative solutions that improve operations
  • Maintains, streamlines and ensures documentation of processes and procedures to effectively manage projects and complete work

Editorial strategy

  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops, reviews and / or advises on communication strategies, tailored messaging and appropriate communication channels to drive employee engagement and performance
  • Analyzes and interprets data, shares actionable findings and applies insights to editorial decision-making
  • Ensures communications and projects adhere to corporate and brand standards and are aligned, consistent, accurate and compelling

Relationship management

  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment between stakeholders and collaborating to deliver on business objectives
  • Operates at an enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior communications leaders and stakeholders.
  • Establishes and manages relationships with external stakeholders (which may include vendors or suppliers), provides guidelines for execution and ensures all requirements are met

Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education, experience and industry knowledge
  • Expert knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, content management systems (e.g., SharePoint) and email platforms (e.g., PoliteMail)
  • Able to respond quickly and effectively manage through ambiguity
  • Knowledge of financial services preferred
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth expert analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated track record of data-driven decision-making

Demonstrated ability to manage people, projects and relationships and influence stakeholders

Salary :

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
