L’occasion

Le gestionnaire, Ventes, Service alimentaire, est responsable du rendement commercial, de la croissance et de la viabilité des produits de protéines dans toutes les catégories et pour tous les clients de son portefeuille. Cette personne est un leader à l’esprit très entrepreneurial, qui a à cœur l’expérience client et possède une aptitude avérée à établir des relations et des partenariats solides avec de gros clients. Le gestionnaire sait comment harmoniser les stratégies et les besoins des clients aux capacités et aux objectifs des Aliments Maple Leaf afin d’élaborer des solutions gagnantes.


Tâches et responsabilités

  • Diriger les efforts de vente auprès des distributeurs et des comptes régionaux clés dans la région qui lui est attribuée, qu’il s’agisse de clients actuels ou nouveaux.
  • Gérer et atteindre les objectifs de profitabilité en atteignant les cibles en matière de volume, de ventes et de profit brut.
  • Développer une compréhension approfondie de la stratégie des clients et superviser l’élaboration de plans commerciaux conjoints avec les clients qui soient conformes avec la stratégie et les objectifs plus larges du service alimentaire.
  • Travailler en collaboration avec des équipes interfonctionnelles pour atteindre les objectifs commerciaux et coordonner les priorités et les ressources entre les fonctions à l’appui des stratégies et des priorités commerciales. Ces équipes comprennent les suivantes : Marketing, Distribution, Finances et Chaîne d’approvisionnement.
  • Constituer et maintenir une base de connaissances sur les concurrents ainsi que sur les tendances chez les exploitants et les clients sur le marché ou dans le secteur, et formuler des recommandations stratégiques tenant compte de ces renseignements.
  • Créer une base de données détaillée des occasions par client en étant guidé par une compréhension approfondie de l’environnement concurrentiel.
  • Participer à la mise en place d’une culture de croissance, ancrée dans la discipline et les principes fondamentaux, qui permet d’établir des partenariats fructueux avec les clients, en instaurant des routines et des méthodes de travail qui permettent à toute l’équipe de comprendre et de coordonner ses priorités.
  • Autres projets et tâches selon les directives ou les besoins.

Qualifications requises

  • Une perspective différente qui complète les compétences, les points forts et les points à améliorer de l’équipe.
  • Au moins 10 ans d’expérience en vente à gérer les clients, les stratégies et les activités.
  • Diplôme universitaire en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • Excellent sens des affaires et des finances.
  • Constance dans l’obtention de résultats axés sur la rentabilité globale.
  • Capacité à simplifier des situations complexes, y compris en matière de finances, afin d’élaborer des solutions réalisables et rentables.
  • Capacité à transformer les données, les perspectives et les déductions en un plan cohérent et logique que les autres peuvent suivre.
  • Connaissance approfondie du secteur et du marché.
  • Capacité à comprendre les objectifs des Aliments Maple Leaf et des clients et à les traduire en stratégies claires et concises pour les clients, assorties de plans d’action efficaces.
  • Capacité à influencer et à exploiter des ressources interfonctionnelles (dédiées ou partagées) afin de cerner et de résoudre des enjeux stratégiques.
  • Compétences exceptionnelles en matière de narration et de communication (écrite et orale).
  • Solides compétences en matière de négociation, ce qui comprend l’écoute, l’approfondissement, la détermination des intérêts et la résolution de problèmes de manière satisfaisante pour les deux parties.
  • Excellentes compétences en matière d’établissement de relations (tant en personne que de manière virtuelle). Expérience de la mise à profit des relations afin de maximiser les avantages pour les deux parties (les Aliments Maple Leaf et les clients).
  • Capacité à s’adapter efficacement à différents types de personnalité afin d’optimiser l’issue des négociations.
  • Réputation bien établie quant à l’exercice d’influence à tous les échelons d’une organisation pour faire bouger les choses.
  • Diligence, sens de l’initiative et proactivité.

The Opportunity:

The Manager, Foodservice Sales is responsible for the commercial performance, growth, and viability of protein products across all categories and customers in their portfolio. This individual is a highly entrepreneurial leader, passionate about customers, and brings a proven ability to build meaningful relationships and partnerships with large customers. The Manager knows how to successfully connect customer strategies and needs with Maple Leaf’s capabilities and objectives to build winning solutions.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Lead selling efforts with key distributors and regional key accounts in their identified region – both existing and new customers.
  • Manage and deliver P&L objectives by hitting volume, sales, and gross profit targets.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer’s strategy and oversee the development of joint customer business plans that support the broader Foodservice strategy and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives and align priorities and resources across functions to support business strategies and priorities. These teams include: Marketing, Distribution, Finance, and Supply Chain.
  • Build and maintain knowledge base of competitors and operator/customer trends in the marketplace/industry and integrate this information into strategic recommendations.
  • Develop a detailed database of opportunities by customer by deeply understanding the competitive landscape.
  • Be part of building a growth culture, rooted in discipline and fundamentals, that delivers winning customer partnerships, by instituting operating rhythms and practices for awareness and alignment of priorities within the team.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Diverse perspective that complements the skills, strengths and opportunities of the team.
  • At least 10+ years of progressive sales experience managing customers, strategies, and business.
  • University degree in business or related area.
  • Excellent business and financial acumen.
  • Consistency in delivering results focusing on overall profitability.
  • Track record of simplifying complex situations, including financials, to develop executable and profitable solutions.
  • Ability to synthesize data, insights and inferences into a coherent and logical chain that others can execute on.
  • Deep industry and market knowledge.
  • Ability to understand both Maple Leaf Foods and customer goals and translate into clear and concise customer strategies with effective action plans.
  • Ability to influence and leverage cross-functional resources (dedicated and/or shared) to identify and solve strategic issues.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong negotiation skills including listening, probing, identifying interests, and mutually solving problems.
  • Excellent relationship building skills (in a direct and virtual environment). Track record of leveraging relationships to maximize benefit for both parties (Maple Leaf Foods and customers).
  • Ability to effectively adapt to different personality types to maximize value out of negotiations.
  • Established track record of influencing at all levels of an organization to get things done.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and proactive.
