Job Title: Solution Architecture Advisor
Work Location: Remote with occasional in-office meetings in Quebec City (2 3 times per month)
Duration: 10 Months

Project Context:

Client has undertaken a major transformation within its Individual Insurance sector. The Finance Legal and Material Resources divisions aim to modernize and optimize their IT systems to stay at the forefront of technology and industry best practices.

The Solution Architecture Advisor will play a key role in this initiative-participating in architecture design documentation team guidance and technical oversight to ensure alignment quality and compliance with enterprise architecture standards.

Update / Key Profile Criteria:

• Confirmed experience in the banking and actuarial domains is mandatory.
• Seeking a Solution Architect with proven expertise in solution review (not infrastructure architecture).
• Kafka experience is highly important.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements into end-to-end technology solutions ensuring alignment with both functional and non-functional design specifications.
• Oversee all architectural aspects including:
  • System: functional/non-functional requirements development component reuse and integration.
  • Technological: adoption of emerging design approaches (e.g. cloud mobility) security performance and availability.
  • Organizational: process alignment change management and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership in solution review governance by proposing reviewing and approving architecture decisions in compliance with corporate standards.
• Ensure effective integration and alignment across impacted ecosystems mitigating potential issues and providing pragmatic workarounds when necessary.
• Maintain the integrity and quality of the solution from design through delivery including supervision of implementation and validation of requirements against testing outcomes.
• Maintain traceability of architecture decisions certify project technical documentation and ensure permanent documentation is updated accordingly.
• Promote adherence to established architecture methodologies and governance processes within the organization.
• Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment with corporate architecture frameworks standards and methodologies.
• When necessary submit exception requests for deviations from prescribed standards.

Required Profile:

• 12 years of IT experience including a minimum of 7 years as an architecture professional across various large-scale projects and organizations (software and data).
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams composed of internal and external resources.
• Ability to manage multiple complex aspects of a single case simultaneously.
• Excellent communicator and educator.
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
• High tolerance for ambiguity uncertainty and frequent change.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
• Experience designing high-volume high-availability applications and systems.
• Experience working with SDLC DevOps Agile methodologies MVP LEAN and ITIL.
• Proven knowledge of the financial services sector (banking treasury).
• Experience in a senior role on a large-scale Finance project.
• Experience in selecting evaluating and managing relationships with technology vendors providing financial solutions.
• Knowledge of SOC2 and ISO 27001 standards.
