Lead the installation of combustion‑intake ducts, exhaust frames, seals, and associated hardware according to engineering specificationsPerform precise torquing and fit‑up of components to ensure structural integrity and compliance with tolerancesVerify all labels, part numbers, and traveler documentation for accuracy before installationManage kit activities, ensuring all components are staged, inspected, and ready for assemblyExecute delta work, including :
Pre‑fitting small duct transitions on‑bayCutting seals to length and prepping duct hardwareInitiating and maintaining travelers for all assigned work, ensuring accurate documentation and traceabilityEnsuring precise alignment of intake and exhaust assemblies to meet downstream heavy lift requirementsConducting in‑process inspections and collaborating with QA to resolve discrepanciesApplying sealants and verifying proper application using gauge tools and measurement instrumentsSafely operating cranes (5–10‑ton capacity), spreader bars, and tag lines for lifting and positioning componentsUtilizing specialized fixtures, alignment tools, and torque equipment to achieve precision assemblyMaintaining and inspecting tools and equipment to ensure readiness and compliance with safetyActing as a hands‑on leader, mentoring technicians on proper assembly techniques and safety practicesAssigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to production schedulesFostering a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and implementing best practicesEnforcing OHS and company safety standards, including PPE usage and lockout / tagout proceduresConducting pre‑lift safety checks and ensuring proper rigging practices during crane operationsReporting and documenting any safety incidents or near misses promptlyCoordinating with Engineering for technical clarifications and design adjustmentsWorking closely with QA to maintain compliance with specifications and standardsCommunicating with Operations and Supply Chain teams regarding material availability and workflow prioritiesWhat You’ll Bring
5+ years in mechanical assembly or structural fabrication in heavy industrial environments2+ years in a leadership or lead technician roleAssociate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing or related fieldExperience safely operating 5–10‑ton cranes, spreader bars, and tag linesDatum alignment and structural work for large assembliesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and travelersFamiliarity with S3 kit and S0M delta work processesAbility to coordinate with engineering and quality teamsExperience with turbine packaging or power generation equipmentFamiliarity with ERP / MRP systems for traveler initiationAbility to work in a fast‑paced environment with repetitive tasksAbility to prioritize tasks to meet assembly deadlines and manage multiple kit activities simultaneouslyAbility to troubleshoot alignment or structural issues and make quick decisions under production constraintsStrategic thinking with strong business and brand acumenA creative, detail‑driven and solution‑oriented mindsetIntegrity and presence consistent with X‑Group's leadership standards and core valuesPhysical & Safety Requirements
