Automation Technician, Junior

Job Title : Junior, Automation Technician Job Summary  Work with Automation Technicians as a plant resource to assist with line improvements automation initiatives, and realignment of existing and new equipment to improve product flow. Work in conjunction with the Maintenance and Engineering departments. Responsibility

• Work with automation technicians, set up and maintenance department to reduce costs by removing non-value-added material / movement from production lines.
• Assist automation technicians, program managers and project engineers at the APQP stage of a program start-up.
• Understand and execute assigned work efficiently to minimize machine downtime.
• Ensure automation projects are completed and continue to function efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles.
• Ensure all new / rebuild equipment complies with CSA, OSHA, and Electrical Safety Code requirements.
• Participate in PHSR requirements
• Participate in root cause analysis to identify and address failures.
• Perform scheduled backups of PLC and CNC programs.
