Position Summary
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist provides supplemental service support in the areas of conversions, ordering stock, vending solutions, putting orders away, 5S handling of service & equipment, and expediting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports MSC customer solutions and sales associates.
- Understands company solutions, products, and services, including limited technical product knowledge.
- Supports the implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory programs at customer locations.
- Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel at assigned customers.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
- Unpacks orders, checks accuracy of shipment, and puts stock away at customer locations.
- Ensures appropriate customer stock levels, generates new orders for merchandise, and obtains customer approval to place orders when required.
- Provides communication and feedback to the sales representative and supervisor as appropriate to ensure full customer satisfaction.
- Performs general (5S) housekeeping for service equipment and immediate area.
- Utilizes company technology to complete daily tasks, order generation, tracking, and routing.
- Logs all events daily within the Service Management tool.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
- Fosters the MSC culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required.Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred.Customer service experience, including one year of related industry experience, preferred.Skills
Computer literacy and proficiency in word‑processing and spreadsheet software.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Other Requirements
A valid driver's license is required.Position requires over 80% consistent daily travel within district; occasional overnight travel is also required.May need to lift up to 50 lbs. based on customer needs.Compensation
Starting at $48,000 - $54,000 depending on experience. Plus bonus and company car / gas card. Compensation range based on similar roles and market conditions.
