Job description

Introduction

Our client, a long-established and successful company in the food equipment industry, is seeking an experience Product Testing Specialist to join their dynamic team. This essential position is responsible for ensuring product compliance with design specifications, regulatory standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design experiments (DOEs) and validation tests for cooking, holding, and food processing equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety requirements
  • Manage the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of test rigs and validation equipment.
  • Accurately document test plans, results, and deviations; create detailed reports for internal teams
  • Develop and refine testing protocols and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for product failures and propose corrective measures.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring safety and reliability
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to align testing procedures with production standards
  • Research relevant topics in food science and validation methodologies, sharing insights through comprehensive reports
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., ServSafe, NSF standards) during validation processes
  • Train team members on testing methodologies and equipment handling
  • Manage inventory and sourcing for test materials, ensuring smooth operation of validation activities
  • Occasionally travel locally or to nearby provinces to support project activities.
  • Perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 30 kg (with appropriate support)
  • Assist with the transportation and collection of project materials to ensure seamless execution of validation and testing processes

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in product testing or quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food equipment or related industries
  • Diploma or degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, process), food science, or related field
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of validation tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English (mandatory) and functional French
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally or regionally for short durations as required
  • Physical capability to perform occasional lifting of heavy items up to 30 kg, following safety protocols
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for material collection and delivery
  • Additional certifications in quality assurance or validation processes (e.g., ServSafe) are an asset
