Operations Finance Business Analyst (Full Time) - Mississauga, ON
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance to Linde financial policy.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of how actual costs are coded and flow through the system.
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives within existing processes to drive efficiencies and establish new processes.
- Participate in cross-functional business projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
- Courage to serve as business partner to 22 Plant Managers with different skill sets and financial understanding (managing with influence).
Budgeting and Forecasting :
- Responsible for all Operations Cost and Budgeting procedural requirements.
- Is responsible for creation of both Fixed ($28MM) and Capital Budgets ($15MM-$24MM).
- Manage the annual budget and monthly forecasting process for Operations, and work with management to drive decisions.
- Works directly and provides direction for all Annual Budgeting and Monthly Spending to entire M&O Operations organization which includes 45 locations, 22 Plant Managers and 5 Regional Managers.
- Understand key drivers of budget ($48MM-$52MM) and forecast and what may drive variances.
- Forecasting and consolidation of Operations capital spend including validation and review of capital requests, and project prioritization.
Performance Management and Execution :
- Improve financial and operation status by analyzing results across systems, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
- Responsible for Day to Day Operations Project approvals and justifications both from a business and financial perspective.
- Questions Plants on Spend or Forecasts with a strong sense of Technical Understanding.
Work with Capital Accounting to identify asset acquisitions and retirements.
Reporting and Analysis :
- Preparation of month-end journal entries for Operations and Customer Service.
- Prepare monthly financial results package, ensuring proper analysis and interpretation of performance are provided to senior management, drives cost management.
- Analyzes and evaluates financial and operating implications of all Operations financial data.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and costing experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaboration skills across multiple disciplines and must be a team player.
- Oracle BI, Tableau and / or JD Edwards experience an asset.
