Position Overview :
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Materials Supervisor. The Materials Supervisor will lead and direct unionized warehouse crews, managing the activities of a crew of 8-10 people alongside hundreds of other skilled trades in a safe and efficient manner.
They will oversee the seamless flow of materials, responsible for receiving, shipping, issuing, and delivering materials to support production.
The Materials Supervisor holds a crucial responsibility for maintaining the accuracy of the inventory within their designated area and will be accountable for their area.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English.

Qualifications :
- Education : Post-secondary education in a related field
- Experience : 5+ years of supervisory experience, with at least 2 years in a warehouse, inventory control, logistics, or distribution environment Shipbuilding and Ship Repair is preferred.
- 6+ years of warehouse, inventory control, logistics, or distribution experience in shipbuilding, defence, manufacturing or a similar environment
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.
S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities :
- Drive the safety culture and ensure procedures are followed.
- Participate in daily Production meetings to present and discuss information material updates.
- Monitor Operations to ensure priorities are maintained and deliverables are met.
- Support the execution of work across multiple trades through material delivery.
