Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Receiving Inspector will be responsible for Inspection of materials and assemblies in accordance with PPI and Customer quality standards. Inspection upon receipt and maintaining entry into the MRP and Quality systems. Day to day duties will consist of conducting inspections to ensure components, hardware and subassemblies are meeting quality standards.
As a Quality Inspector, your main responsibilities will include - but are not limited to :
Conducts inspection to ensure components, hardware and subassemblies are meeting quality standards.
Responds to queries on the quality of parts
Makes decisions based on documented accept / reject criteria.
Generates detailed nonconformance reports (NCRs) for rejected items
Actively manage backlog of rejected items to achieve targeted cycle time
Supports Quality Assurance or Customer Inspectors during Source and FAI Inspections
Responsible for release of product to stores, verifying that all contractual requirements have been met
Reviews test data sheets for compliance to the test requirements, and ensure all signoffs are complete and legible
Completes Inspection Checklist when required, requests and signs off Release Notes, and routes product to shipping
Performs assembly and other manufacturing functions as required when time allows
Perform inspection activities of products, components, subassemblies, and / or systems, to assess conformance to the design as defined by the engineering drawings, models, and / or customer requirements

What you require to be successful in our team :
High School Diploma or GED
Certification and In-depth knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards (such as WHMA-A-620 / J-Std-001 / IPC-A-610) or common mechanical techniques (such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices) considered an asset
Fluent with quality standards, internal documentation and product lines
Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go / no-go gauges, etc) and microscope to verify mechanical part compliance
Experience reading drawings and able to verify part dimensions against drawing requirements
Proficient using Metric and US / Imperial measurement systems and doing measurement conversions
Ability to interpret contractual requirements and to execute them independently
Intermediate PC skills and experience using ERP systems
Knowledge to implement effective ESD and Moisture Sensitivity practices at all times
Knowledge of SPC is an asset
Understands the link between assembly, inspection and QA in customer satisfaction
Basic knowledge of ISO and AS Standards
Ability to understand military specifications and to read blue prints
Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action
