Position Summary :
Reporting to the Food Service Manager, the Dietary Aide is responsible for the provision of highest quality food service to residents, visitors and staff, safe food handling practices and proper sanitation procedures in keeping with Ontario Regulation 243 / 84 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act (Food Premises). The incumbent is responsible for portioning of meals and desserts, assisting the Cook with food preparation as needed, cleaning dining rooms and serving areas, operation of the dish-washing machine and cleaning equipment. The incumbent may be requested to assume the duties of the cook in his / her absence. The position involves walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying and moving between refrigerated / freezer areas and areas at room temperature.
