Ultrasound Technologist

Job Description

Accountabilities :

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and / or treatment
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Adhere to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists in Ontario (CMRITO) required
• ARDMS (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics / gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with ARDMS (CRGS) within six months of the date of hire
• Recent experience in related area of responsibility required
• Able to perform breast imaging is an asset
• Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics / gynecology, paediatric, vascular and musculoskeletal an asset
• Experience in ultrasound special procedures i.e. biopsies, an asset
• FMF NT certification an asset
• Membership with Sonography Canada an asset
• Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

Hours : Currently Days / Evenings / Nights, 8 hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

SALARY : Minimum : $36.84
