Position Summary

The pharmacy operations regulated technician role will provide a key supportive role to pharmacy locations in British Columbia primarily but across Western Canada if needed. The Regulated Technician is a seasoned regulated staff that has good standing licensure in British Columbia and is willing to acquire additional provincial licensure as required. The Regulated Technician will have advanced understanding of Kroll, pharmacy repackaging equipment for quality assurance, long term care and pharmacy data entry practises. This role will work from their home city as a standard but will be flexible and travel to pharmacies when needed for Regulated Technician support activities.

Compensation : $30 - $34 / hour plus applicable premium

Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.

Your Day To Day :

Technician Activities

  • Support with quality assurance activities including data entry prescription technical checks, packaging preliminary and / or final checks and labeled product final checks.
  • Complete final checks for new admissions / prescription checks for new residents where a Clinical assessment has been completed by a pharmacist.
  • Confirming that a Clinical check has been completed by a pharmacist before releasing it.
  • Verifying accuracy and completeness of demographic and prescription info
  • Delivering superior customer service according to our “Customer Service Principles” including communicating, telephone etiquette, trouble shooting and team work.
  • Determining the authenticity of the prescription and ensuring it meets all legal requirements
  • Adhering to all company and store policies and procedures.
  • Meeting all legislative requirements within their scope of practice as a regulated pharmacy technician with the college.
  • Notifying the pharmacist of any alerts or therapeutic issues ie diagnosis or medical condition, drug and dosage, profile.

Project Support

  • Support with pharmacy specific and regional projects in a regulated (and where appropriate, non- regulated) capacity.
  • Activities include data entry, updating files, pharmacy management software data quality or support for data entry process changes requiring updates to resident profiles.
  • Attributes, Skills, and Knowledge :

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a pharmacy regulated technician.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in long term pharmacy regulated technician.
  • 2 years as a pharmacy data entry assistant in Kroll considered an asset.
  • Experience in working with long term care and assisted living clientele
  • Excellent communication, data entry and calculation skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and organized
  • Demonstrates time management, organizational skills, high degree of accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to travel across British Columbia and within Western Canada for weeks at a time
