We arecurrently seeking a Senior Technologist to join our Calgary Studio to work on some of the most prominent projects across Western Canada.

Job Summary

The Senior Architectural Technologist is a senior technicalleader who develops and coordinates detailed design and constructiondocumentation for complex architectural projects. This role engages directlywith clients consultants and authorities supporting the full lifecycle of aproject and contributing to the technical leadership of the studio.

Key Responsibilities

Design Documentation

• Lead the development of detailed construction and permit documents.
• Translate design concepts into comprehensive design development and contract documentation.
• Conduct advanced technical research and lead detailing development across project phases.
• Review and ensure compliance with building codes bylaws and QA/QC standards.

Project Support Coordination

• Manage project execution from start to finish including planning scheduling budgeting scope definition resourcing and profitability.
• Establish and adhere to office expectations for financial performance staffing efficiency and project milestones.
• Lead regular internal project meetings and communicate status updates to Operations and the Partner-in-Charge at a minimum monthly.
• Coordinate and oversee project activities ensuring alignment with office Project Delivery processes filing systems and documentation standards.
• Provide project status updates to the Partner in Charge or Project Manager.
• Coordinate with subconsultants and lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts.
• Liaise with clients municipal officials and regulatory agencies.
• Support tendering processes including bid package preparation.
• Attend site meetings and perform shop drawing reviews and contract administration duties.
• Ensure all work aligns with the firms Project Delivery standards including proper use of filing systems adherence to architectural procedures and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols.

Team Culture

• Mentor junior and intermediate staff and contribute to a collaborative studio environment.
• Promote high standards of professionalism accountability and quality.
• Lead by example in aligning with the firms project delivery practices standards and values.
• Actively contributes to the technical growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Able to work in a collaborative in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).

Qualifications

• Architectural Technologist Diploma or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• 10 years of experience in an architectural office.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Revizto Bluebeam SketchUp and Navisworks is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of construction systems detailing and code compliance.
• Effective communication time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project delivery goals.
